Welcome to Metsola – an easy and carefree holiday on lake Tiermasjärvi

Metsola is a log cottage that sleeps 4+2 people. It is located in Northern Kuusamo, on lake Tiermasjärvi which is rich in fish. Oulanka national park is right next door so there is plenty to do for everyone.

OPEN-PLAN KITCHEN

The kitchen and the living room are open-plan. You can see the beautiful outdoors and the lakeview from them, and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace. Delicious meals can be enjoyed at the oval dining table that seats six people and morning coffee can be enjoyed on the terrace. The living room has a 55” Smart TV and a JBL-partybox player. The cottage is single-storey and has comfortable floor heating throughout.

BEDROOMS

Good night sleep is ensured with quality beds and fresh bed linen. Main bedroom has a 180cm bed, plenty of storage space and a 42” Smart TV. Second bedroom has two 80cm beds and sliding door wardrobes for storage. Pullout sofa in the living room can sleep two extra people.

SAUNA, HOT TUB AND SWIMMING

The indoor sauna has a Narvin Löylyvalmis heater, a rainwater shower and mood lighting. From the spacious entryway that functions as a dressing room, you can go outside to hang out on the terrace or relax in the hot tub. Kiramin Comfort hot tub has a powerful and hygienic wood-heater that allows it to heat fast. The hot tub is available year-round. Enjoy winter frost, Ruka’s starry sky, Northern Lights and midnight sun from the warmth and comfort of a hot tub!

Separate beach sauna is also a smoke sauna. It has two sauna stones, and the traditional wood-heated one creates a true sauna experience, with real smells and atmosphere. Smoke sauna is available for an additional fee. You can jump into the lake’s clear, drinkable water straight from the beach sauna year-round! In winter, there is a hole in the ice for ice swimming. The beach sauna does not have a shower; in summer, water can be pumped from the lake and in winter has to be carried over.

OUTDOORS

Kids can play on the lawn that has, among other things, an Acon trampoline, a darts board and a swing. The yard is gated but occasionally, reindeers will make their way there from the lake. Pets are allowed in accordance with the booking terms.

There is an outdoor grill and furniture near the beach sauna.

During summer, a rowing boat is available to you, along with a ​​2hv motor. Lake Tiermasjärvi is rich in fish, including whitefish, vendace and perch. You can also rent a cottage’s own ATV in the summer.

In winter, you can rent a Lynx snowmobile, with which you can make skiing trails in the backyard or on the ice. The cottage has its own grader. The snowmobile is well-suited for ice sledding or short joy rides with kids.

LOCATION

Metsola is exceptionally located: Oulanka national park is mere 6km away! Which means that the most popular destinations are just a short ride away, including kayaking and rafting.

Ruka mountain is 25km away. In Käylä village, which is 7km away, there is a grocery store, a gas station, as well as a lit skiing trail and a skating rink. Pieni Karhunkierros trail starting point is 14km away, Salla 66km away and Kanjonin kurkkaus trail 40km away.
